Each earbone or Otolith is unique. No two are alike, even if they come from the same fish. Otoliths can give insights to the age of the fish and the waters in which it swam. Like the rings of a tree, the more rings a fish’s earbone has, the older it is.
These bones come from wild caught halibut caught in Sitka, Alaska.
Each pendant measures about three quarters of an inch in length and comes on an 18.25 inch chain.
Please note, due to the uniqueness of each otolith, your otoliths may not look exactly as pictured.
We strongly recommend removing your jewelry before engaging in any activities that can lead to contact with moisture (for example showering) to maintain luster and prolong life. This can cause tarnishing.
Otoliths can be fragile and can break if dropped, please handle with care.
